March Musical Madness is a huge success!
On Friday, March 6th The Williamston Chamber of Commerce, Six String Place and Limner Press hosted the first
annual March Musical Madness event in Williamston. Musicians played at the local area businesses and a student
open mike was held at the Cappuccino Espresso. At the end of the evening a drawing was held, with prizes donated
by local area businesses.
The winner of the guitar giveaway, chosen from more than 140 entries, was none other than one of our fine local
musicians, Ed Groves, shown with Six String Place head instructor Sean Barrett. Congratulations, Ed!
Our thanks to the following musicians who participated: Ryan Scott, Dusty String Duo, Ed Groves, Casey Brockway,
Bo Williams, Bill Curtis and the Towner Road Blues Band, Father Clark, Kate VanAllsburg, Pete Porciello, Joanna
Poynter, Jake Bierbaum, the Headliners, Tania Hayward, Chris Russell, as well as the instructors from Six String
Place, Sean Barrett, Nick May and Don Warren.

We are now at a new location!!!
As of January 5th, we have moved to a new location at 125 E. Grand River Ave., just 1/2 block away from our old
location. We now have three complete lessons rooms as well as 600 sq. ft. of showroom space. We are also offering
lessons in keyboards and drums as well as guitar, bass and mandolin. Please stop by and see us!
Instructor Sean Barrett places second in the Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine composition
contest:
Sean Barrett, the lead instructor for Six String Place, recently placed second in the Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine
classical composition contest sponsored by Grammy winning guitarist Andrew York. Sean's composition, titled
"Gypsyoso", was chosen second over more than 30 contestants from around the world. Sean will also appear as a
featured artist in a future issue of Fingerstyle Guitar magazine.

Six String Place students Jackie Bishop, Caleb Simpson and Caleb Eaton recently performed for their 6th grade
graduation ceremony, accompanying their choir teacher Ms. Filipiak on the song "Realize" by Colbie Cailat. Click here
